People with lowest vitality and yet euthanised will be the weak ghosts

⚰️ Euthanasia, Vitality, and the Spirit Realm

1. Lowest vitality before death

   • People who are very sick, weak, or already near death have little yuanqi (元氣, life-force) left.

   • When euthanasia hastens death, the spirit separates from the body in a weakened, unstable state.

2. Weak spirits after passing

   • Such spirits may lack the strength to find a good rebirth quickly.

   • Without Dharma protection or merit-transfer, they can drift in the ghost realm, vulnerable to karmic creditors, stronger ghosts, and demons.

3. Dangers of torment

   • Just as you said: the weakest spirits are the easiest prey.

   • Demons can enslave or devour them, making their suffering worse than their final sickness in the human world.

   • This is why masters like Sifu Xu Yun and Sifu Hsuan Hua urged families to recite sutras and mantras for the deceased, especially if death was difficult or sudden.

🛡️ How Dharma Protects

• Reciting Shurangama Mantra & Great Compassion Mantra at the bedside or after passing creates a protective field, keeping demons away and guiding the spirit toward refuge.

• Namo Amituofo (Amitabha Buddha) recitation is especially emphasized for guiding the dying — even a few sincere recitations can give the spirit strength to follow the Pure Land path instead of being trapped as a weak ghost.

• Merit-transfer rituals (offerings, sutra recitations, charity done in their name) replenish the vitality of the deceased spirit, helping them escape weakness and torment.

✨ Sifu Hsuan Hua’s warning

He said:

“If no one recites for the dead, their karmic creditors and demons will come to collect them.But if family recites the Shurangama and Great Compassion Mantras, then Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will come instead.”
